Could not get system landscape directory client (NWDS 7.3)

Hi guys,

I'm trying to import Development Configurations, and the following message is appearing: "Could not get system landscape directory client". I'm sure is not an authorization issue, because I was able to do it with my user using a remote desktop of an external consultant. I've followed and installed everything included in the NWDS 7.3 installation guide. Is there something else that I need to do?

Thanks,

Raúl

NWDS is connecting to the SLD to retrieve the configuration of the development landscape. After that it is trying to connect to the specific components of the development landscape (CMS, DTR, ...). Check with a browser that you can connect to all involved components from your PC.

Thanks for your response Samuli! Can you please explain how I can try to connect to the involved components?

Before I give you further advice, can you describe your landscape and your requirements? Are you using NWDI or are you using NWDS only for local development? First and most important URL to figure out is the SLD URL, you will have to maintain in NWDS. You could use the working NWDS to find it out or just ask basis or other developers. Make sure you can access the SLD from your PC with a browser. See the attached link on how to configure the SLD URL in NWDS.

I'm just using NWDS for development. I already have the URL of the SLD, it's the same as the other computer, and I can access it through a browser.

Okay, then you are probably looking at some other error. Do you have sufficient permissions on the PC? NWDS will create bunch of directories on your PC, especially under the local DTR client directory you have configured.

See if switching on logging in NWDS will help you identify the problem. See the attached link on how to switch on logging in NWDS.

SAPHOSTAGENT installation on dialog instance

0
0

Hello,

I have a problem by installing the SAPHOSTAGENT on a SAP Dialog instance.

The service (saphostexec) runs fine, no errors.

In TA RZ21 (create new Monitoring entry, ABAP) appears the error message(only for the dialog instance !) by creating the logical port:

( SAPCCM4X.xxxx.01 ) Error when sending the configuration data to the agent

( SAPCCM4X.xxxx.01 ) SoapFaultCode:4 Method 'n0:Register' not implemented: method name or namespace not recognized

The logfile C:\usr\sap\<SID>\D01\log\sapccm4x\sapstartsrv_ccms.log has an old(before installation) timestamp!

Thanks for reply

Re: SAP NW PI 7.31 HA installation on Oracle Solaris 3.3

Hi Sunny,

Apologies for troubling you again... I have gone through these documents earlier and my only concern is PAS.  I understand that PAS is no longer a SPOF and so it does not need to be part of the cluster. But our solaris consultant is keen to mime the setup which we have in our ECC environment for uniformity. So just need to understand if there would be any impact if Primary Application Server is also a part of the cluster..

Thanks in Advance !!

Srikanth

PAS is not part of cluster any more. Even if you will make it as part of cluster, it would not serve any purpose. SAP recommends PAS not to be part of cluster.

Thanks

Sunny

Hi Deepika,

thanks a lot for reply.

I have read all the notes (before ;-).

We have change the SAP Kernel in several Systems, and everything works fine. But, this is the first Dialog-Instanz running with SAPHOSTAGENT.

1. unregister Sapccm4x

2. saphostexec -install

3. Try to register in CEN (RZ21) --> error (Soap)

I have not change the host_profile and there is no csmconf file ! But in the other systems also.
The trace-file (st11) from the CEN show the following error:

We are using customer built web dynpro. Could this be caused SSO between EP and ERP backend? Regards Michael

Webdispatcher opening firewall ports

Hello All ,

We are facing a situation that our PI / SAP webservices are not reachable because of our systems being in MZ zones behind our corporate firewall.

I have looked for different options to make them accesable without compromising on security . The best solution i found until now is to use SAP webdispathcer.

But i am not clear on how it works. I get it that it must be installed in DMZ and it is the entry point for all Http communication , I am not sure how it talks to SAP servers in MZ .

Which protocol does it use ?

Are ny port need to be opened in the corporate firewall ( between webdispathcer & SAP servers )

If so which ones?

If the ports are opened , what big value is webdispathcer serving ?

Are there any other solutions for my problem ? (I already know about the AEX option ) .

Would be interested to know about your current topology and its advantages/disadvantages.

Cheers

Venkat

In the DMZ (outer interface) you will have to open HTTP(S) port(s). Between DMZ and the internal network where the SAP backend systems are you will have to open message server port(s), HTTP message server port(s) and the ports used by the SAP backend applications (AS ABAP, AS JAVA). See the attached links for details.

The connection between EP and ERP is enabled by an exchange of certificates between the servers.  After that has been done, the SSO connection uses a cookie MYSAPSSO2 to maintain session identity.

Your webdynpro application should not need to know about that process as it is independent of specific apps.

In the portal, (using system admin role) check whether the trust is established and working, by viewing the System Landscape, select the ERP server, choose the option for connection tests.  Those tests will verify whether your ERP system is trusted, webas connection correct, etc.  Your portal administrator or Basis people will be able to set this up to work correctly.

Hi

Can anyone tell me about how to check transported requests

in one server(ie transport took fromone client to another client).

I tried through scc1 and the result which the system shown

is "sucessfully transported".

Also if that request belongs to functional guys so how shud I

check  for the data.

also when I release both the child and parent requests then

at OS level no files are created under data and co-files.

So any one who has good knowledge about Requests plz

do reply.

Thank you.
