Hi Stephen,

I agree with you that PO is the way to go.

But, we don't want to invest in another middleware product as we are anyways buying HCI.

We only need CE for ESR as of now.

And the reason for asking that question is in the documentation(SAP Composition Environment – SAP Help Portal Page), it is mentioned that "As of SAP NetWeaver 7.3, SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment (CE) has become part of the overall SAP NetWeaver platform".

 

Does that mean after upgrading our NetWeaver beyond 7.3, we would have to install CE differently?

Kindly, confirm if there are any pros and cons to installing CE prior/after Netweaver Upgrade to 7.5(From 7.0).

Hello Julia,

 

there is a way to get the License for AS JAVA Systems. To do this go to follow the below:

NWA-->Configuration Management → Infrastructure →Licenses → Available Licenses.

from here we can upload a new licence and can install.

 

We can apply this through OS level if the system is not up. For that we should have the license downloaded from Market place.

Login with SIDADM give saplicense -install.

Provide the system details.

To view installed license give saplicense -show.

 

Reward if helpful.

Hello Phani,

 

thank you for your information, but as I posted already in march:

 

Within the JAVA only systems there is no saplicense/saplikey, table SVERS is missing.

SAP Support told us that license information could only be get via Solution Manager or via NWA.

Hello,

 

We have a requirement to add hyperlink on the logon screen of SAP JAVA Portal. I have searched SCN but couldn't find the correct method to do this.

Is there any way to do this? If yes kindly suggest the steps to do.

Hi,

 

By following the second link i know that we can add and image and customize the screen. but i want to figure out if we can add a hyper link? so that when we click on that it should directly take me to that page.

 

And also I want to know if we perform this Manual changes how the system will be impacted.

Hi,

This option is much more powerful than the 1st option, so yes, you can add a hyperlink and/or completely redesign the logon page.

As you can see restart will be required and an UME property needs to be edited if you would like to roll back to the standard logon page.

NetWeaver Application Server ABAP 7.03 64-bit install Issue

Hello,

 

I attempt to install "NetWeaver Application Server ABAP 7.03 64-bit" but I get the following message during step "Start Instance"

 

ABAP processes of instance NSP/DVEBMGS00 [ABAP: UNKNOWN] did not start after 10:10 minutes. Giving up.).

 

 

- I added Microsoft Loopback Adapter : ID address 10.10.0.10

- I modified Host file as follow

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.

#    127.0.0.1      localhost

#    ::1            localhost

10.10.0.10            Netweaver

 

 

But I get the same error message.

 

 

Log R3trans -xd

This is r3trans version 6.22 (release 720 - 18.11.11 - 11:29:00).

unicode enabled version

2EETW169 no connect possible: "connect failed with DBLI_RC_LOAD_LIB_FAILED."

r3trans finished (0012).

I would like to know what is the best way to find the transparent tables used in an structure, (eventually, beyond a transaction, also)

 

There is some information on the internet, but it seems outdated or inadequate for this version of Netweaver.

Hi Alan,

 

Kindly check database is starting, if it is a oracle DB it could be the reason of oracle password expired. If it is expired kindly reset it. I also faced same problem and resolved it.

saposcol is a part of the SAP Host Agent package. The SAP Host Agent starts and manages saposcol. The SAP note describes differences between "kernel saposcol" in older releases and saposcol in SAP Host Agent:

HI Bhushan,

 

You can follow point 4.2 from SAP note 19466. This is valid for your central instance.

For the Linux dialog instances, the process is basically the same, except that the directory is the executable directory from each instance.

The kernel should be put in the DIR_CT_RUN location. Check the profile parameter DIR_CT_RUN.

The parameter should be platform specific so systems running on Linux and Widows should have separate directories.
